Bachelorette Weekend

Had a fun time of bonding at Jenny's bachelorette party in San Diego this weekend. I'm so proud of us! We had some good clean and respectable fun... We stayed in La Jolla, took a dinner cruise, danced the night away, then got up in the morning and went to the zoo. What a blast!

Here is the attractive group shot. Jen is the queen bee!

Sonya, Me, Wendy & Claire bonding on the Hornblower. Can you tell which way the wind is blowing?

More hot girl action aboard the high seas! Notice how my scarf is not on my head anymore... Due to a serious dancing attack.

The gals go to the Zoo; Claire & Niki find the beer stand. Dos Equis light if you must know.

Becks Has ENTERED the Building

Went to the Beckham Galaxy game this weekend.

Much hype. Much fanfare. Lots of flashbulbs.

But I do LOVE him still.

In other celeb-u-tard news, Katie, Suri, and the whole Posh gang were sitting behind me in the box. So when I looked around my shoulder this is what I saw.
How very... LA... I had so much fun that I gave myself a massive migraine.

Good Hair DAy

So far, the most interesting news is that my fellow coworker Melissa will be featured on ET with her new 'Katie Holmes' haircut. She got her hair 'did' by the show!

I think Melissa looks better than Katie, but I'm biased I guess. Although I love the little outfit Kate's wearing in this picture... But that's another subject.

Good to Go

It'll be good to get away. Only a few more days then I'm off. Frankly, I need the change. I need the new perspective. I get so caught up in the day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month that I want to pull my hair out at the roots.

I think next Thursday I'm going to pretend like I'm running away. Making a clean break... Create this elaborate fantasy like I'm an international spy on a mission or something. Or that I'm off to find the cure for cancer in the jungles of Africa... Bear with me people, let me dream for while.

I worry about my lil' kitty. I hope lots of people come visit him so he doesn't feel abandoned. I would take him with me if I could. But I wouldn't want him to become a snack for Mustafa or get stomped on by Dumbo! He'll probably get mad at me and give me the cold shoulder when I get back, as cats are prone to do after being abandoned for periods of time. But he'll eventually get over it and love me again, as cat's are prone to do after a period of more time.

Monday

I can't believe it's already March and I'm going to Africa next week. As usual, I don't feel ready... I don't think I ever feel ready right before I globe trot...

It'll be good to get away for awhile. The pace in Zambia is much different than it is in LA. It's not frantic, obsessive, muti-tasking or deadline driven. I suppose part of that is due to the poverty of the region. Many just do not have the access to things that make life more "efficient." This can be a blessing in disguise if you ask me. I can't wait to chuck my cell phone into the Zambezi River upon arrival... “Take that! Modernity”

It's common to see people walking everywhere; especially women going about their daily routine. I guess in any area, the economy dictates the pace. Even though we are blessed with wealth, I don't always think that we're very balanced in our approach to life... I'm wondering if Zambians sleep better, or suffer less anxiety related disease than we do? I'm sure someone's done a study... Although I know as a whole, life is not that great for many... The last time I checked the life expectancy was like 33, mostly from AIDS deaths bringing it down. And Zambia is one of the worst, can you believe that!?

Wow, I guess I should just shut up about all my modern complaints. Regardless of my selfish ranting about life in Hollyweird, I still look forward to the slowness of Zambia. I suppose we all need a reality check once in awhile.
